The
Vixel 2100 Zoning Managed Hub, 2000 Managed Hub and 1000 Hub |
Vixel's Fibre Channel zoning
managed, managed and unmanaged hubs provide a reliable high-speed
single-point solution between servers and storage subsystems. A
Fibre Channel-Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) is the best interface for
reliable short- or long-wave data transfers at the highest speeds.
Vixel brings flexible solutions to the FC-AL, by allowing
user-configurable fiber optic or copper ports. This allows IT to
design storage networks that can grow with the organization's data
access needs. Vixel's hubs are also hot-pluggable, so IT benefits
by not having to shut down the interconnect for maintenance or
port reconfiguration.
Vixel 2100 Zoning Managed Hub
The Vixel
2100 Zoning Managed Hub is Vixel’s third generation hub that
delivers features and functionality beyond traditional Fibre
Channel Managed by utilizing Vixel’s "hub-on-a-chip"
architecture with retiming circuitry. The 2100 Zoning Managed Hub
enables users to divide the hub into four full 100 MBps Fibre
Channel loops, or "zones," which can be created
"on-the-fly" via SAN InSite, Vixel’s comprehensive
management platform, to configure the device loops at will.
Multiple zoning configurations can be saved and quickly recalled
to speed routine zoning modifications. Vixel’s unique zoning
implementation ensures maximum sub-loop stability by isolating
Loop Initialization Primitives (LIP) from applications sensitive
to delays. Tape backup and streaming video applications can now
perform as anticipated, and without interruption, using a cost
effective FC-AL loop topology solution.
The Vixel 2100 Zoning Managed Hub includes integrated SNMP
management and offers users a choice of interfaces for management
and control to meet various needs and preferences. The 2100’s
easy to use, password protected embedded web management interface
can be accessed simply by using a common web browser from anywhere
to monitor, control, reconfigure zones, and isolate potential
problems within the 2100 Zoning Managed Hub.
Alternatively, Vixel's SAN InSite
Management Software can be used to deliver unmatched extensive SAN
management, diagnostics and analysis capabilities to keep the
entire SAN running at its full potential, even when a variety of
hubs and switches are used locally or remotely. SAN InSite
provides historical performance charting capabilities for the 2100
Zoning Managed Hub that enables users to see the bandwidth
consumption across each port, or zone, on the hub over the past
several months, allowing them to proactively make informed
decisions for alternate SAN topologies.

Vixel
2000 and 2006 Managed Hubs
|
| The
Vixel 2000 series hubs, including the Vixel
2000 and the Vixel
2006 Managed Hubs (click on the links to view each
datasheet) include the Vixel SAN InSite Management Software
with advanced diagnostic features. Running over SNMP, SAN
InSite includes device management such as enclosure
monitoring for temperature and fan operating status, as well
as advanced management with our single system view loop
diagnostics. These features allow for more efficient
management by reducing problem recovery time by as much as
95 percent - enhancing uptime while keeping the enterprise
running smoothly. Based on the JAVA programming language, it
provides capability for quick and easy problem detection,
isolation and recovery.
SAN InSite provides a
graphical user interface, hierarchical screen presentation,
a logical topology map, and management of multiple stacks,
loops and/or fabrics. With SAN InSite, IT professionals can
easily monitor and identify events that may result in
unavailability of data or decreased performance.
Vixel 1000
Hub
The industry's best selling hub, the Vixel
1000 (Click here to view datasheet) offers the lowest
cost-per-port storage interconnect solution available for
entry level configurations as an alternative to SCSI
technology. This sensing hub simplifies cable management for
centrally-managed storage applications, and provides IT with
mixed-media options for optimum on-site configuration and
performance. The Vixel 1000 runs at speeds of 1063 Mbps, the
fastest ANSI-standard data transfer technology available
today for use in the storage network.
