OVERVIEW
The SANbox-64/128 Director
is a highly scalable Fibre Channel switch offering all the
Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS)
features required in today's 24 x 7 data center
environment. Providing robust, mainframe-class
connectivity for mission-critical open systems storage
applications, the Director creates an intelligent backbone
infrastructure of unprecedented capacity and resilience.
Hot-swappable 8-port
plug-in modules allow IT managers to grow the Director to
64 ports per chassis. For further expansion, two chassis
can be joined via an independent high-speed backplane
interconnect module to form a single 128-port switch. In
either configuration, the Director appears as a single
point of information to the fabric management system and
can be combined with other 8-, 16-, 64- or 128-port SANbox
switches to form even larger fabrics.
Comprehensive SAN services,
including those listed below, are automatically
distributed across multi-switch fabrics. Redundant parts,
a powerful non-blocking internal architecture and
ANSI-standard interoperability make the Director an
essential component of today's large-scale SANs.
