Description
Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) provides
for high performance storage and networking
applications. With simpler cabling, longer
distances, and the ability to support larger
numbers of devices than parallel SCSI, FC-AL
technology is expanding rapidly.
The LightPulse™ LH1005 hub is the ideal
solution for small Fibre Channel arbitrated loop
FC-AL configurations. The LH1005 enables a
centrally managed physical star topology while
maintaining the logical loop requirements of
FC-AL. The LH1005 supports automatic bypassing of
unused and/or unpowered ports, allowing system
administrators to add and/or remove users without
affecting the network.
Each LH1005 repeats and refreshes the data
signal, extending user distances while maintaining
signal quality. The LH1005 can be cascaded to
support larger loop configurations up to the FC-AL
limit of 126 active loop participants.
